ALEX “THE CAR GIRL” ROGEO STRUGGLES IN LAS VEGAS TONY ROWE ENTERPRISES BRACKET RACE
Las Vegas, Nevada – Alex Rogeo, aka Alex the Car Girl, went into race number seven of the Tony Rowe Enterprises Bracket Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hoping to rise further up in the points. Her car, Team MoparMax.com’s Maulin’ Magnum was fitted with a new experimental electronic engine device.
“We really hoped this new black box was going to solve some of the problems that we’ve had lately,” Alex said. “Unfortunately, it not only didn’t it was actually a step backwards. When you’re used to going rounds and seeing win lights, it’s hard on the team when we lose that groove and struggle like we have for three races in a row now. But I believe in this team and I know we’ll start doing our thing again very soon.”
Alex’s crew chief, Richard Kratz said, “We started the year so strong, then we had transmission issues. We have the greatest sponsors a team can have including the wizards at Westminster Performance Transmission. They’ve given us a great transmission. We have a badly needed redesigned driveshaft coming from The Driveshaft Shop that we’re going to review for the magazine and which will allow us to start launching this car the way it should be. I’m going to go back to where the car was earlier this year and put a reliable car into Alex’s hands. Then I’m going to let her do that driving thing that she does so well.”
“I’d like to congratulate Jon Irving Jr.,” Alex said, “Who clinched the Sportsman class 2012 track championship Saturday night with two races still to go. Jon and his father are a class act, great racers and even greater people. When we were racing him earlier this year and developed an issue in the lanes Jon and his father leapt to our aid with some assistance to make sure we could make the call and race him the next round. He’s a true champion.”
Alex went on to say, “Off the track was an amazing weekend for us. Thanks to the hospitality and generosity of Mr. Tony Rowe and the marvelous folks at Santa Fe Station Hotel and Casino, we were relaxed and enjoyed our time away from the track. Santa Fe Station is a perfect hotel for racers; it’s convenient to the track, and just like drag racing it’s family friendly. We stayed in a big, beautiful room, our trailer was parked in a secure lot and we even went bowling in the 60 lane bowling alley located right off the casino.”
Richard said, “We got to talk to Mr. Tony Rowe’s business partners, Cecil and Theresa Rabb and came away very impressed. Tony Rowe Enterprises is so much more than just a race promoter. They’re deeply committed drag racer’s themselves, they’re smart business people with their Local Speed Shop located right at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway complex, and they have some seriously good ideas for drag racers and bracket racers at LVMS. We look forward to the future at LVMS with Tony Rowe Enterprises here.”
Alex wrapped up by saying, “We’re back in two weeks for the final two Tony Rowe Enterprises bracket races in the 2011 series and we’re hard at work to make sure we’re coming back ready to do our thing and go rounds. The track championship may have been decided, but we’ll never stop trying to win each round, each race. It’s what we do!”
Alex thanked her many sponsors including Magnuson Superchargers, MoparMax.com, Easy Elegance car care products, Mickey Thompson, RPM Rollbars, the Driveshaft Shop, OS Giken, Unitrax Drivetrains, LAT Oil, Whiteline Suspension, Continental Torque Converters, Westminster Performance Transmissions, Diablosports and MechanixWear.
Alex Rogeo is Contributing Editor for MoparMax.com magazine. She is also co-founder of Easy Elegance, a car care products company. She races in sportsman classes in NHRA, WCHRA and PSCA events in the southwest.
