It has been a while since we’ve shown you a good old fashioned, all four wheels off the ground wheelstand video. This is racer Chris Evans competing in his great looking X275 Mustang at the always fast Maryland International Raceway. As you’ll see, the car hooks and starts climbing the ring gear very quickly. It appears that Evans pedaled it and tried to get the front end back down onto terra firma, but it was to no avail. Thankfully the car kept heading straight down the course so no body damage was done but judging by the shower of sparks that pour out from under the car, the headers and oil pan were squashed pretty well!

Small tire racing is at its zenith these days, with national and regional series touring the country with big purses, similar rules, and a wide open attitude that racers love. Videos like these help put butts in seats at local tracks too. You literally never know what is going to happen from pair to pair at events like this. You could see two perfect runs in one pair and then two rolling disasters in the next!

Chris Evans stuck to the old racer’s adage on this lap. “If you can’t win the dough…be the show!”
