I have gained a huge appreciation for fast motorcycles over the last year. Having seen so many two wheeled rockets at the ECTA meets in Wilmington, Ohio I learned a lot and came to really like seeing them perform. On the drag strip, the same thoughts apply. EJ Potter used to say that back in the 1960s, guys at drag strips hated motorcycles. He said that they were, “Noisy things that flipped over backwards,” and he said it with a laugh. Anyway, the point is that the technology and performance of modern motorcycles is incredible. In this video we ride in an interesting and low slung position on the back of Doug Gall’s wildly quick motorcycle. According to the video description, Gall runs 6.99 on this run.

The video is wild because you can see the front tire trying to climb incessantly on the run (including in the lights), you can see the chain do all kinds of weird stuff when the bike is under power and being shifted, and you can also see the rear sprocket, which looks like a saw blade engaging the chain. The terminal speed on the pass is 211mph. and it sure looks like all of that. The best we can tell you about the motorcycle is that it is a “pro street” classed machine.

You’ll find yourself doing what we did and that’s to watch the video multiple times. You’ll see it once and pay attention to the speed of the bike. You’ll watch it the second time to see the chain doing its weirdo dance down the track, and you’ll watch it a third time to count how many times the tire kept climbing off the track. This rider has some skills, that is for sure!
